 Dr. Salam Nazhan received the BS and MS degrees in physics and electronic physics from Al Mustansiriya University, Baghdad, Iraq, in 1998 and 2005 respectively. He received the PhD degree in Optoelectronics from Northumbria University at Newcastle/ Uk in 2016. He joined the optoelectronics research group at Bangor University, Wales, UK in 2011-2012 and Optical Communications Research Group at Faculty of Engineering and Environment, Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. His research focuses on optical and electrical characteristic of vertical-cavity surface emitting laser (VCSELs) for free space optical communications. Salam published more than 14 publications in high quality international journal in the research field. Salam is participant in about 7 international conferences in the word included London, Manchester, Portugal, Istanbul, Newcastle/UK and Damascus
